Matt PictureMatt's career in the motel/hotel industry began with AmericInn International as the Opening Team Manager. Matt's position consisted of overseeing the opening of more than 35 properties. For two years, he worked very closely with the owners and General Managers in hiring and training all property personnel and setting up all operational systems.

Matt was then promoted as the General Manager of a corporate managed property, the Avon AmericInn Motel. After one year, Matt accepted the General Manager position of the new Alexandria AmericInn Motel. Matt experienced a great deal of success in the two years that he operated the Alexandria property, achieving very high occupancies and net operating profits.

Upon completing these two successful years at the Alexandria AmericInn Motel, Matt accepted a position as District Manager for Central Group Companies, a St. Cloud, Minnesota, based lodging management company. His responsibilities with Central Group Companies included overseeing the management of 16 motel/hotels and one restaurant. The General Managers of each of these locations reported directly to Matt. Matt's other responsibilities included preparing annual budgets and business plans for each property, analyzing monthly financial statements for each property and reporting to ownership groups quarterly, recruiting and hiring of all new General Managers, and pursuing new management contracts. After two and one-half years of being the District Manager for Central Group Companies, Matt was internally promoted to Special Services Manager. Matt's responsibilities in this position included overseeing the purchases of all furniture, fixtures and equipment for new projects as well as developing new operational systems for existing properties.

On April 15, 1996, Matt joined ETC Management as Vice President of Operations. His responsibilities include overseeing all operations of the management company and all managed properties. In January of 2000, Matt was promoted to Vice President of Development & Operations. In addition to overseeing ETC Management, he assists the CEO with various development projects.

Matt owns the AmericInn Motel in Little Falls, Minnesota, and he is an owner/partner of the AmericInn Motel & Suites in Crookston, Minnesota; the Waseca Inn & Suites in Waseca, Minnesota; and the AmericInn Lodge & Suites in Madison, South Dakota.
